Ah! The drilling rig is here. Had a chat with the contractor today (a very nice guy who looks like a slightly overweight Lemmy, btw) and the drilling/blasting will start tomorrow or monday. He assured that the foundation work will be done by thursday. So everything is going according to schedule!

Oh, forgive me for typos in this entry. We’ve been at a dinner at the next-door neighbours, and then at the local pub afterwards. It’s friday! Whoo!

Not exactly “Day 3″

Pancakes!

Well, I promised to give daily updates on the progress, but after a rather hectic day of meetings in Oslo I came home to a building site where zip had happened during the day. The reason is propably that the same firm are blasting just on the other side of the river, and the equipment they need here now is located there at the moment. I assume they’re heading over here tomorrow. In the meantime you can enjoy these three hunks having coffee and pancakes after a very good ride in Hølen last saturday. Au revoir!

Day 2

After a long day at work with frequent MMS-messages with updated pictures from Elisabeth it was great to come home and find the hole plot cleaned and ready for drilling and blasting. Checked the measurements and everything goes as planned. Amazing to see how the terrain changes from one day to the other. And it’s going faster than I thought as well! Stay tuned. I’ll update tomorrow afternoon again.

Finally!

After three months of planning the excavator turned up this morning. Two big threes are now gone and the surface layer will be removed tomorrow. That means that drilling and blasting could be done by the end of the week. The timing was perfect since the building permit popped into my inbox this afternoon!

If everything goes as planned (and it better! ) I should have the foundation done by next saturday, and then the workshop turns up the following monday. As mentioned earlier it comes as a pre-fab building, so hopefully it’ll be roofed and ready for internal work in about 14 days. Fantastic!
