Today we got the electricity in as well as the last internal panels. That means that the workshop is ready to move into in about a week or so. The most important thing now is to get the floor grinded, so that I can prep it properly. After that I need to move the machines. That will be an interesting job…. Time for a beer! Au revoir!

It’s coming together

Dead tired after another long day. Got the under-roofring in place today. By thursday the roofing should be ready as well as some other bits and pieces. Insulation and interior panels arrives tomorrow afternoon, and I got to run out to buy cabels for power so my brother in law who arrives on thursday night have something to do on friday and saturday. Watched about 20 minutes of “Blue in the face” and had a pizza and beer tonight. Heading to bed now. Au revoir!

What a day!

(It’ll be processed by youtube in a few minutes)

The weather turned really good today and we decided to stay at home fixing up the garden. A perfect decition, since it topped out at about 10 Celcius degrees and sun from a blue sky. Sofie played and Elisabeth and I removed some of the mess from the foundation work behind the house to be ready for the delivery tomorrow morning. Time to go to bed now. Enjoy this picture of the lovely crocus in our garden!

Day 10 & 11

Yesterday was quite hectic, and my stress-level was even higher. But everything went as planned and the concrete slab is now in place and everything is ready for the building to arrive _early_ monday morning. My good friend (and photographer: www.lorentz.no) LP and my dad will help me out on monday and tuesday, and with a wee bit of luck and a lot of hard work we should be able to get the building almost ready on the outside by tuesday evening.

Oh, sorry for not following up on my “one post per night” promise yesterday. I was dead tired and Elisabeth I decided to go to the cinema to see the newest movie by the Cohen-brothers: “No Country For Old Men”. Fantastic movie - allbeit quite an emotional shock. Now I know that I have to start reading Cormac McCarthy. Here’s the trailer for the movie:

Rushed home from job today to find the building site in the very same state as when I took this panorama-picture at 06.40 this morning. Turned out that the hydraulic-pump on the drilling rig had blown yesterday. So the allready thight schedule is even thighter now. They’ll do the last couple of blows tomorrow morning, and then it better be ready to start working on the foundation tomorrow evening before the concrete pouring on friday morning. We’re crossing our fingers over here.

13 truckloads of rock….

The guys have been working hard today (12 hrs) and have removed 13 truckloads of rock during the day in addition to at least to blows early in the morning. At 7 pm they called it a day, and then all the rocks had been removed. Tomorrow there will be two blasts in the morning, and that should be it. Then it’s on with the work on the foundation. The weather on friday is still up in the air, though…

The blasting finally started today. Two shots after the school next door closed it’s doors at 2 pm. Great fun to look at! The blasting will continue with a couple of shots tomorrow. Hopefully that’s it, and the guys can start working on the foundation. The guy who’s going to pour the concrete was over to have a look tonight, and we’re crossing our fingers for good weather on friday. Otherwise I’m in deep shit. The building turns up here early monday morning, and then all the insulation +++ arrives on next wednesday. It’s a thriller!

Day 5 - Saturday

A grey and rainy day in Hølen. No progress besides the fact that the electrical cable to connect the shop turned up. Another piece in the puzzle, I guess. Blasting starts on monday. Untill that you can enjoy this fine clip from the legendary Norwegian band Raga Rockers:
